a few summer things
medium format is one of my favorite types of film photography…you really can’t beat it. between the ridiculous enlargement capabilities, image sharpness, and bokeh (of course, y’all know i crush on good bokeh like nobody’s business), it wins my heart every time.
there’s also this feeling you get (from square format especially), like you could almost walk straight into an image. when i first started becoming familiar with medium format i remember falling in love with the work of cynthia henebry on flickr. the way she captures her children and life as she knows it is absolutely mesmerizing. i’m so happy to see that she’s doing remarkably well for herself in the art world, and beyond. you can check out her work here, and here.
i am constantly inspired by other photographers, and i’d like to start sharing more of them on here for those of you who may not be as familiar with them. and please feel free to share some of your favorites below in the comments! 🙂
the following images were made with my rolleicord III, and portra 160 film.
